NEWS FLASHLufthansa will trial complementary beverage service, including alcohol, in economy class on select short-haul flights this September. This follows a trial of complimentary hot beverages on certain routes over the summer. The move comes in response to plummeting passenger satisfaction. The German flag carrier introduced a buy-on-board concept, including for essentials such as water, on short-haul flights in 2021. Lufthansa has not outlined which routes will see the complimentary service, however, it will include free wine, beer, and soft drinks.
